Check-In Procedures for the California Firefighter Summer Games

General Check-In Requirements

  • Each competitor must check in in person.
  • A valid Fire Department identification card is required at check-in to verify eligibility.

  • All required registrations and waivers must be completed online prior to arrival.

Standard Check-In Process

  • Upon arrival, proceed to the designated check-in location, located at the host hotel.
  • Check in at the registration table assigned for competitors.
  • Present your Fire Department ID.
  • Verify your registration (often via QR code or name lookup).
  • Receive your wristband or badge, which is required for participation in events and access to Games activities.

Location

  • General Games check-in is usually conducted at the host hotel.

  • Some individual sports may reference the same check-in location, even if competitions are held off-site.

Typical Check-In Schedule

(Check-in hours vary by year and are officially published closer to the event.)

  • Sunday: Afternoon 1:00 PM-7:00 PM
  • Monday: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:00 AM-4:00 PM

Participants should confirm exact times through official Summer Games communications or the event website.

DIVISIONS:

THERE WILL BE NO DIVISIONS BY DEPARTMENT SIZE. THE SOFTBALL COMMITTEE WILL ASSIGN THE TEAMS FOR POOL PLAY ON WEDNESDAY.

ALL TEAMS WILL PLAY 3 GAMES ON WEDNESDAY TO DETERMINE THEIR PLACEMENT IN THE DOUBLE ELIMINATION BRACKETS.

AFTER WEDNESDAYS GAMES ALL TEAMS WILL ADVANCE TO DOUBLE ELIMINATION.

FOR DOUBLE ELIMINATION, TEAMS WILL BE PLACED IN BRACKETS ACCORDING TO WEDNESDAYS PLAY ALONG WITH THE SOFTBALL COMMITTEE’S INPUT. THERE WILL BE NO MORE THAN 8 TEAMS PER BRACKET.

EACH BRACKET WILL HAVE 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD PLACE MEDALS AWARDED.

ANY COMBO TEAM WILL BE PLACED IN THE HIGHER BRACKETS.

40 and over Division. Teams consisting of members 40 years of age and older.  Pool play to single or double elimination depending on the number of entries.

20 player maximum roster

RULES:

USSSA. Courtesy runner.

Bats will be provided by CFAA and are the only bats allowed for tournament play.
