POOL PLAYERS

We are excited for the upcoming 2025 California Firefighter Summer Games! This year, we’ve improved the check-in process for incoming athletes to make it quicker and more efficient. Our goal is to minimize wait times, allowing you to enjoy the host hotel and reconnect with fellow firefighters and families you haven’t seen since last year.

At check-in, you’ll scan a QR code. Once you’ve checked in, simply present your FIRE DEPARTMENT ID at the table to receive your wristband. As always, we’ll be available to assist you throughout the process.

We have found that in the past, some athletes have been excluded and some teams discouraged from participating due to athletes not having a team from their department, or a team not having enough members.

Any team that would like additional members from a pool of interested athletes may indicate this on their team roster. Any athlete looking for a team may register online as an individual indicating that they would like to be placed on a team. The event coordinator will review the forms and use the information to place “Player Pool” athletes.

The intent is to allow as many firefighters and teams to participate in the Olympics as possible. We discourage any attempt to manipulate the system towards an “all star” concept. We encourage any of you who are looking to compete, to consider entering the “Player Pool”. We may form a totally new team from the pool if there are enough players and it seems appropriate.
