FIREFIGHTER GAMES
HISTORY
The California Firefighter Games began in 1972 as an opportunity for all California Firefighters to get together in friendly competition which promotes physical fitness and provides an informal forum for exchanging ideas. Recently we have included the Western States, giving more competitors the opportunity to challenger their skills.
Throughout the years, the Games have been held in Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Davis, Irvine, Santa Clara, San Jose, San Diego, Palo Alto, Bakersfield, Santa Ana, Ventura, Concord, Sacramento and Livermore/Pleasanton. The games are governed by the California Firemen’s Athletic Association, with a local associations bidding to be the host and bring the games to their community. Next year, the California Firemen’s Athletic Association (CFAA) will be hosting the 2023 event in San Jose/Milpitas, California. We will be celebrating our 51th year. Lets make this a great year for the Games.
